Lately, we have had an influx of new and interesting grant opportunities land on our desk, with August being a particularly busy month for us. Here are four fantastic grant programs closing mid-September that are generating interest from our members. They are all national too, so definitely worth exploring for eligibility!
Supporting Stronger Communities
Round 5 has recently opened for the Supporting Stronger Communities grant. Through this program, Neighbourhood and Community Houses and Centres can apply for up to $10,000 for projects that seek to address poverty or disadvantage within their local communities.
You can apply for funding to cover costs associated with delivering projects which can include (and is not limited to):

Wages for the delivery of the project
-
Equipment hire or purchase costs
-
Hall hire costs for off-site facilities
-
Community Training costs.

Women and Leadership Female Leader's Scholarship
Women & Leadership Australia is administering a national initiative to support the development of female leaders throughout the country.
Scholarships are available for Leadership Courses Across Australia through the following courses:

Early Career Managers – $1,000 partial scholarship: delivered part-time over four months, Leading Edge is designed to enable the transition of aspiring and early career female managers into confident, capable and motivated leaders

Mid Level Managers – $3,000 partial scholarship: delivered part-time over seven months, Executive Ready is designed to stretch mid-level leaders and propel them towards executive level performance, behaviours and mindsets

Senior and Executive Leaders – $5,000 partial scholarship: delivered part-time over twelve months, the Advanced Leadership Program is a high-impact and challenging developmental course for senior and executive leaders.

Social Investment Grants Program
This grant is provided by Community Sector Banking and is for not-for-profits to build capacity within their organisations which can include efficiency of programs, policy, staff acquisition and retention.
Grants of $25,000 or $50,000 are available but in addition to monetary grants, this year’s program will also include five in-kind strategic impact grants to help not-for-profits build capacity in their organisations, which could include:

Marketing and communications support
-
Governance sessions Accounting and financial planning advice
-
Impact measurement
-
Government relations.
Five x 20 hour in-kind strategic impact grants are available. To be considered for these grants, applicants must apply for a social investment grant and complete the additional questions in the application.

Youth Advocacy Support Grants
The purpose of this grant opportunity is to provide funding to peak youth advocacy organisations and a national peak body to represent young people, in particular those who are marginalised, and enable improved engagement and consultation with government in the development of future policies and strategies that affect them directly.
This improved engagement and coordination will support the development of a Whole of Government National Youth Policy Framework with the objective of:

Providing effective consultation and information sharing with young people, the youth sector and the Australian Government
-
Functioning as the source of sector knowledge and expertise; and
-
Providing well-informed and impartial advice to the Australian Government.
There are two streams of funding under this grant opportunity.
-
Stream 1: To support Youth Advocacy Peak bodies to: Form national youth advocacy networks (particularly for marginalised young people) through online platforms or face-to-face forums to gather and report their views on specific topics such as education, employment and health. This engagement will inform the development of national strategies, policies and programs developed and administered by Government

Stream 2: To support the National Youth Peak body to: Engage and support young people and provide independent policy advice informed by a diverse group of advocacy organisations and young people.
